brunch

yesterday for brunch, i checked out leftovers and came up with something quite wonderful (if i do say so myself) i have been reading alot of spanish recipes lately....guess that was my inspiration!
i made a brava sauce (shortcut one) mayo, ketchup, hot sauce and smoked paprika. the paprika is the ticket! then i heated or reheated......left over, local yellow squash, red potatoes (previously roasted) sliced baucom's sirloin steak (previously grilled) ......then added in a free range egg.....i popped the yolk....heated until egg set......plated....slathered some brava sauce (more hot sauce)
..........voila!!!!!!!!!

last week we went to one of our very....favorite places.....lang van ...their spring rolls are to die for.
we make them ourselves....that way you can load up on all the wonderful fresh herbs.....thai basil, mint, cilantro, lettuce, sprouts......yum! try it ....you won't be sorry.

Last night we ate a fabulous dinner all fresh from Hillbilly! We had roasted Baucom's Best chicken thighs with fresh herbs, roasted baby turnips from Hillbilly's own garden, roasted creamer potatoes with fresh lavender and oregano. John is not a huge squash and zucchini fan but he couldn't resist them since they were freshly picked out of Hillbilly's own LOCAL, ORGANIC farm! He sauteed them in a skillet with basil. So delicious!
